The end of the year is a great time to look back and reflect on what God has done in our lives. I have been a special project (and continue to be). I am amazed at how far He has taken me. As I’ve bumbled my way through the years, the evidence of His handiwork and provision are clear. Although I’ve deserved it, He never left me or abandoned me.
I’ve straddled a career in the business world and poured out my heart with my passion for creating art. He has blessed me along both paths, gently reeling me in and casting me out during different seasons. With each high and low I learned a little bit more about Him and His ways. He steadily leads me and sometimes carries me. Through it all, I still wrestle to trust and obey only Him. I am still a work in progress.
Now however, with the perspective of 54 years I have a foundation of past experiences that allow me to anticipate and expect His presence. I now understand that especially during the most desperate times He is always there. He allows those times to happen. Each disaster is a lesson. He gently and patiently guides me as a loving Father to become more like His Son.
At an early age He gave me a love and a passion for creating art. As a young man He gave me a love and a hunger for His Word. It is a miracle for me to see how He has blessed those gifts. It is exciting to think about where He will lead me next. It is not so exciting to think about how He might take me there.
I hope that you know Him and are also aware of His amazing love for you. I hope that you can also look back and see that He has been working all along in your life. He has been there for you too as a loving Father watching over His beloved child. If only we could know and understand why He cares so much about us. Thankfully, we will one day when He welcomes us home.
Thank you for being such a blessing to me and my family in 2015!
